Herbalife Joint Support Advanced
Joint Support Advanced has replaced Joint Support Complex with an improved formula. This product helps maintain healthy joint function and comfort and supports healthy ageing with a unique formula of Glucosamine Hydrochloride, Scutellaria baicalensis root extract and minerals.
Key Benefits
- Three smaller easy-to-swallow tablets daily
- Contains Scutellaria Root, a traditional chinese medicine for healthy ageing
- Contains Copper as well as more Selenium & Manganese
Glucosamine
Glucosamine is clinically proven to support healthy joint function and comfort and supports healthy ageing. Glucosamine Hydrochloride has been clinically proven to be as effective as prescription medicine for the relief of the symptoms of mild to moderate osteoarthritis. But, unlike pharmaceutical medicines that simply manage the symptoms, glucosamine helps delay the
progression of the disease. Furthermore certain prescription medicines have significant side effects.
Long term maintenance is important to protect the health of your joints. Glucosamine is found in high concentrations in cartilage and other connective tissue. The cartilage producing cells in our body can either synthesize Glucosamine themselves or obtain it from supplements. As we age the body's ability to produce glucosamine decreases. Supplementing with glucosamine hydrochloride may help to repair and build worn or damaged cartilage, associated with osteoarthritis.
Selenium & Manganese
Selenium and Manganese are essential minerals. Due to declining amounts of selenium found naturally in soil,it is important to supplement your diet. Selenium acts as a powerful antioxidant whilst Manganese is good for bone health and acts as a cofactor in several metabolic and enzymatic reactions.
Scutellaria Root
Scutellaria is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and has been added for its antioxidant and healthy-ageing benefits.
Copper
Copper is the third most abundant trace mineral in the body, but it is often deficient in a person's diet because food sources high in this mineral are not always eaten frequently (such as oysters and liver). Copper works together with iron to make red blood cells and it is the major component of the outer coating of nerve fibres and collagen. Copper is used by the body to manufacture numerous enzymes, many of which work as antioxidants.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why does the new label show less Glucosamine, Manganese and Selenium than the old Joint Support Complex?
As the dosage is now three times higher per day, the levels are actually higher. The original tablet was large and difficult to swallow, and now the dosage is spread throughout the day.
Why does the label say Glucosamine HCI, not Glucosamine Sulfate?
We switched to Glucosamine HCI, opposed to Glucosamine Sulfate, to create an easier-to swallow tablet.
What is the source of Glucosamine being used in new Joint Support Advanced?
The source comes from shellfish (specifically prawns).
What is the Australia & New Zealand Recommended Daily Intake (RDI) for Glucosamine?
1500mg. If you take Joint Support Advanced three times daily, you will meet the RDI.
What is maximum daily limit for Selenium in Australia & New Zealand?
150mcg. If you take Joint Support Advanced three times daily, you will reach 70.2mcg.
Will I exceed the daily limit of 150mcg if I take both Joint Support Advanced and Multivitamin Complex?
No. Each Multivitamin Complex tablet contains 8.33mcg of Selenium, so for three tablets a day, the total intake based on three tablets daily would be 24.99 mcg per day. Joint Support Advanced contains 23.04 mcg Selenium per tablet, so total daily intake based on three tablets daily would be 70.2 mcg per day. The joint total intake of Selenium from these two products would therefore be 95.19mcg per day which is lower than the maximum limit of 150mcg per day.
